Bound

This is a game i created in Unity to get better at level design outside of competitive 1v1 maps. This game is similar to the “Hardest game in the world” type where the player has to go from point A to point B while avoiding obstacles which are represented with orange blinking tiles. I choose to make a game with simple mechanics and game so i can focus on the level design part.

The decoration around the levels is done for only few levels. The main idea is to regroup levels into “worlds” which are focused on one game mechanic and make the decoration different so the player understands that something new is coming.

Here are the main points i focused on for the level design:

  • Environnement and game mechanics clarity.
  • Mechanic discovery, reinforcement and mastery.
  • Difficulty balancing.
